Special invitational presentations of THE REMARKABLE JOURNEY OF PRINCE JEN, a new musical based on the novel by Lloyd Alexander, are set for November 14th and 15th at MTC Studio 1 (311 West 41 Street). Music for THE REMARKABLE JOURNEY OF PRINCE JEN is by Daniel Green, with book & lyrics by Lezlie Wade. The presentations will be directed by Brian Hill.

Set in a mythical Chinese kingdom, THE REMARKABLE JOURNEY OF PRINCE JEN is a family-friendly adventure tale about the transformative powers of friendship, courage and love. When his father's kingdom is threatened, Prince Jen embarks on a quest to seek the aid of a powerful Emperor, carrying with him five seemingly ordinary gifts. But sometimes that which appears ordinary can be truly remarkable. The young Prince soon discovers that the objects hold magical powers, and with the help of some newfound friends learns that he, too, is capable of more than anyone imagined.

The cast of THE REMARKABLE JOURNEY OF PRINCE JEN will feature Joshua Dela Cruz (ALADDIN, HERE LIES LOVE), Ashley Park (THE KING AND I, MAMMA MIA!), Alan Ariano (MISS SAIGON, M. BUTTERFLY), Sean MacLaughlin (THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, EVITA), Raymond J. Lee (MAMMA MIA!, ANYTHING GOES), Paolo Montalban (ABC-TV's "Cinderella," PACIFIC OVERTURES), Ann Sanders (BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, AVENUE Q), Zoe Manarel (MATILDA), Scott Watanabe (THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, ALLEGIANCE), Jay Paranada (SUITES BY SONDHEIM), EJ Zimmerman (LES MISERABLES), Kelvin Moon Loh (THE KING AND I, HERE LIES LOVE), Eric Badiqué (COSTS OF LIVING), Samantha Funk (THE GOLDEN BRIDE), and Dorcas Leung (BYE BYE BIRDIE). Music direction for THE REMARKABLE JOURNEY OF PRINCE JEN is by David Gardos.

Author/lyricist Lezlie Wade began working with composer Daniel Green at the renowned BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop. Initially they collaborated on a ten-minute piece based on the Prince Jen story and ultimately created this full length musical, which has been presented at ASCAP and as part of the Bound for Broadway concert series at NYC's Kaufman Music Center.
