Musical stand-up comedian Ashley Frieze will perform Discograffiti: Songwriting under the spotlight at the Brighton Fringe Festival on the 18th/19th May, 9.30pm and 25th/26th June, 8.15pm, At The Hobgoblin, 17 York Place, Brighton.

Ashley Frieze has been performing at Fringe festivals since 2003. This is his fourth consecutive year at the Brighton Fringe and this show is bound for the Edinburgh Fringe in August.

Frieze has been writing songs for ten years. He’s produced two CDs, and performed music in over a thousand shows. As a self-taught songwriter, Ashley’s been wondering whether he really knows the secret of the perfect song. Has he been getting by on sheer good humour without truly knowing the secret of songwriting?

In this, his second solo stand-up show, find out what he’s learned from studying the masters of the craft as well as self-help books and the entire back catalogue of Elton John. Decide the worst song in the world, and even help to write a better song than “Mary Had a Little Lamb”. There will be songs, silly puns and slightly more instrumentation than absolutely necessary.
