Due to unforeseen circumstances with the venue, the New Jersey debut of Hedwig and the Angry Inch will have it's final performance in Asbury Park, this Saturday evening, July 7th, at 8PM. The cult-popular, glam-rock performance will close after an extended 3-month run, acclaimed reviews, and never-before-seen New Jersey theatre audiences, at the historic Baronet Theatre, 205 4th Ave., next door to the Fastlane and Asbury Lanes. The show is presented by In Good Company.

To go out with a bang, The Angry Inch welcomes popular NJ and Asbury Park musician, Arlan Feiles, to the band. Feiles reprises his Hedwig role after appearing in the original touring production and Boston run, and currently fronts his own band, Arlan Feiles and His Lone Orchestra. He joins nationally acclaimed performer Aaron Berk, in his fourth time taking on "the wig". Well-known for his Washington, Syracuse, and Rochester appearances of Hedwig, Berk recently appeared off-Broadway in Shockheaded Peter and the recent Rags concert, three European tours of Hair, and Riff Raff in the 25th Anniversary production of The Rocky Horror Show in Europe.

Back-up man Yitzhak (rocker Bre Cade of the Jersey Shore, with appearances in The Rocky Horror Show, Hair, Little Shop of Horrors, The Wiz, Godspell, and more), lead guitarist Krzyzhtoff (Billy Horn, Buffalo-based rock musician, actor, and playwright), bassist Jacek (Stephen Petry, NJ-based multi-instrumentalist), and Schlatko on the drums (Michael Lapp, NJ/NYC musician and improv performer) complete the show's cast.

The producers of the show would like to stress that the decision to close the production was beyond their control, and would like to ask for everyone to support live theatre in Asbury Park by attending closing night. There are many who have doubted and will continue to doubt, but the fans have been loud and strong. Keep the Baronet alive! The production's MySpace page is filled with incredible reviews and heartfelt compliments from fans across the country. Anthony D'Amato, NJ-based soul-rock vocalist and professional actor, has directed the entire production. Hedwig is the first theatrical endeavor for The Baronet Theatre, a historic burlesque, vaudeville, and movie theatre.

This Obie-winning Off-Broadway smash also won multiple awards for its hit 2001 film adaptation, starring John Cameron Mitchell. It tells the story of "internationally ignored song stylist" Hedwig Schmidt, a fourth-wall smashing, East German, rock 'n' roll goddess, who also happens to be the victim of a botched sex-change operation. This outrageous and unexpectedly hilarious story is performed by Hedwig in the form of a rock gig/stand-up comedy routine, backed by the hard-rocking band "The Angry Inch."

Tickets for Hedwig and the Angry Inch are general admission, $10 in advance, $15 at the door. Please make an advanced reservation by e-mailing hedwigasburypark@gmail.com .
