The elite ArtsBridge Summer NYC 2012 program will connect student performers with dynamic program directors from America's top performing arts colleges during a two-week intensive workshop August 5 through 17, 2012 held at NYC's Chelsea Studios (151 West 26th Street).

ArtsBridge is a multi-disciplinary consultancy that provides talented student performers with educational opportunities in the performing arts by providing them with specialized guidance on what it takes to be a working artist while taking a close look at the college admission process. High school and college transfer students seriously considering a college major or minor in the performing arts will learn how to make the right college choice, the importance of collaboration, and will gain valuable assistance on the college applications process.

"As a college admission professional, I was shocked by the number of talented students who were not getting admitted to their choice schools," said ArtsBridge founder Halley Shefler. "It quickly became clear that these students were not receiving the proper advice about the college admissions process. I founded ArtsBridge as a resource to help these students navigate through the stressful college admissions process, choose colleges that are the perfect fit and prepare them to apply to these visual and performing arts schools. Now in our sixth year and third year of offering the summer program, we are thrilled to see the incredible level of academic success our students are able to achieve."

The ArtsBridge Summer NYC 2012 faculty will include an impressive roster of teaching professionals from the country's top performing arts schools including, Amy Rogers, ArtsBridge Artistic Director and Director of Musical Theatre at Pace University; Ingrid Sonnichsen, Associate Professor of Acting at Carnegie Mellon University; David Krasner, Associate Professor of Acting at Emerson College; Gary Kline, Associate Professor of Musical Theatre at Carnegie Mellon University; Michelle Chassé, Musical Theater Dance Coordinator at Boston Conservatory and Robin Lewis, Associate Professor of Musical Theatre and Dance at Rider University.

Registration for ArtsBridge Summer NYC 2012 can be completed through an easy online system available by clicking here. Tuition for the two week program is $2,800. Housing is available through Educational Housing Services (1760 Third Avenue) for an additional fee. Financial scholarships are available by request. ArtsBridge offers rolling admissions and space is extremely limited. The program is open to high school students and college transfer students, age 16 and up, who are seriously interested in pursuing a college major or minor in musical theatre. Applicants must submit a brief application and a video of themselves performing two contrasting songs (32 bars each) from the musical theatre and/or rock repertoire and two contrasting monologues no more than 1 minute in length each.
