Arts Horizons will celebrate its 35th anniversary on Monday, Oct. 22, 2012 at the Essex House, 160 Central Park South in NYC, beginning with cocktails at 6:30 PM.
Joe Piscopo will host the event, which will honor the late Celeste Holm, who served for many years as chairman of the organization; and the late artist LeRoy Neiman, whose foundation supplied funding for the Arts Horizon LeRoy Neiman Art Center in Harlem. Opera singer Frank Basile, the husband of Ms. Holm will perform. There will also be a live auction.
Arts Horizons, based in Englewood, NJ, provides innovative arts-in-education programs in public schools in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Professional musicians, artists, dancers and actors have worked hands-on with over 8 million students since Broadway musician and educator John Devol founded Arts Horizon. The programs enhance literacy skills, introduce young people to the arts, and improve self-esteem, leading to success in school and in life.
