Lincoln Center, the world's largest performing arts center, announces upcoming dates and details for Boro-Linc, a program that presents free family events from Lincoln Center's resident organizations to neighborhoods across New York City through partnerships with cultural and community organizations. The Boro-Linc initiative commenced last year with several Lincoln Center programs at the Casita Maria Center for Arts & Education in the Bronx, and continues this fall with a series in both Staten Island (Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden) and Queens (Jamaica Center for Arts & Learning). The program will continue in the spring in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx; details to be announced at a later date.

In addition to bringing its resident organizations artists, programs, workshops, and exhibits from the Manhattan campus into neighborhoods, Lincoln Center also works with the local community center to showcase local artists from around the community and borough. Through Boro-Linc, Lincoln Center aims to make the arts more accessible and increase arts awareness and engagement for children and their families.

"Access to the arts is a right, not a privilege," said Jed Bernstein, President of Lincoln Center. "We are proud to join with our Lincoln Center constituent partners in breaking down geographic barriers to experience performing arts at its best."

"We are pleased to work with Lincoln Center to present these wonderful educational programs to the children and families of Staten Island," said Snug Harbor CEO Lynn Kelly. "Rabbit Days and Dumplings will add a new dimension to our annual Asian harvest festival. We urge participants to also take advantage of the opening weekend activities of the new Staten Island Museum at Snug Harbor during their visit."

"We are truly exhilarated about this partnership with Lincoln Center which offers not only quality artistic programs in various forms, but opportunities for interactive hands-on and community participation," said Cathy Hung, Executive Director of the Jamaica Center for Arts & Learning. "Program staff from Lincoln Center worked with JCAL tirelessly to design a series that perfectly ties to JCAL's mission and offerings to our regular education community and residents here. It's a win-win situation all around."

"Lincoln Center is helping lead the way with increasing access to the arts and culture throughout the five boroughs," said New York City Council Majority Leader Jimmy Van Bramer. "Building upon the success of its inaugural year, Boro-Linc's aims to engage thousands of more New Yorkers with world-class performances, exhibits and workshops that will truly mesmerize audiences in communities throughout in our City."
