The 47th annual Christkindl Markt will be held on November 9, 10, and 11th at the Canton Cultural Center for the Arts, located at 1001 Market Avenue North in downtown Canton. Sponsored by the Canton Fine Arts Associates, Christkindl Markt is a juried fine arts and crafts show with a holiday theme. Profits benefit the Canton Museum of Art.
New this year:
Several award-winning local artists will demonstrate their talents for guests on Friday, November 9 and Saturday, November 10 from 2 to 4 pm in the Canton Museum of Art lobby. All members of the Canton Artists League, the artists will include Nancy Stewart Matin, Suni Viadero, Ann Cranor and Peter Castillo. Nancy Matin is both a working artist and an art instructor. She has won awards in several competitive exhibits and her watercolor paintings are in many museums and private collections. Suni Viadero was born in Spain, has traveled extensively and is an avid gardener. She enjoys painting flowers and is inspired by nature. Artist Ann Cranor earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Kansas State University with an emphasis in printmaking. She recently moved to Canton with her husband, Tim, and is inspired by the beauty of this area. Peter Castillo was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was raised in South America. He completed his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Ohio, and has exhibited his paintings throughout Northeast Ohio.
