Oakland, CA
Innovative mixed-media artist David Fenton announced the introduction of his IndieGoGo campaign, titled: ALIVE: the Art of David Fenton. The campaign focuses on art as a force for inspiration, risk-taking, and ultimately, change. With exclusive offerings including limited-edition series originals and high-quality prints, this innovative campaign hopes to bring Fenton's art to a wider audience.
"I'm excited about this campaign because it's an opportunity for me to engage the community in a personal way," said David Fenton.
"I feel I'm taking a risk in asking for support while at the same time I'm hoping to inspire people to take risks in their own lives. The work has been extremely well received and people seem to relate to what I stand for. All very encouraging."
When asked what he hopes to achieve, Fenton went on: "I'd like to bring my art to the next level and reach a wider audience. It would be great to inspire others to share their own stories about courage, risk-taking and the role art has played for them in their lives. I want everyone to know how powerful art can be."
David Fenton lives and works in Oakland, California. His artwork engages a unique process: first burnishing on aluminum with a honeycomb core, then transferring his photography and illustration onto the etched metal. Fenton's art has been selected for several prestigious art fairs including ArtExpo New York 2014 and Spectrum Miami in December 2013. Recent and upcoming exhibitions include the Bash Contemporary and Linus Galleries. David was also named as one of Art Business News Magazine's "Must-Watch List of Top Artists" for Winter 2013.
