Ars Nova presents, as part of the Out Loud series, a free reading of: THE NOISE by Rachel Bonds, directed by Portia Krieger. The cast includes Peter Friedman, Greg Keller, Meredith Holzman, Maryann Plunkett and Merritt Wever.

THE NOISE
Ellie is falling in love with Amos. But the deeper she falls, the more she is seduced by the Noise that visits her at night, drawing her further and further into her fears. Ellie's father is hard at work on his garden, lost in his own past and leaving his new wife stranded. A poignant new play that asks, what do you do with the void that a serious loss leaves behind, and how do you live with the fear of losing again?

Rachel Bonds’ plays have been developed at New Georges, Ars Nova, EST, LaMaMa, The Flea, Playwrights Horizons, The Greenpoint Division, The Sewanee Writers’ Conference and The Atlantic Center for the Arts. Affiliated Artist of New Georges’, member of EST’s Youngblood, proud member of Ars Nova’s Play Group, and the Fr. William Ralston Fellow at the 2011 Sewanee Writers’ Conference. BA from Brown University.

Portia Krieger: Recent projects include Samuel D. Hunter's When You're Here (Williamstown), Too Much Too Soon (Lesser America), Kathryn Walat's This Is Not Antigone (New Georges), Florencia Lozano’s BUSTED (Rising Phoenix) and Eager to Lose and The Wii Plays (Ars Nova). Portia was the 2011 Boris Sagal Fellow at the Williamstown Theater Festival. She’s an alumna of the Drama League Directors Project and the Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab, and is a co-founder of the New Georges Jam. She is Ars Nova’s 2012 Director-in-Residence.
