Professional Children's School alumni Arlene Shuler and Robert Fairchild will be on hand to receive the PCS LEGACIES AWARD at a gala benefit featuring a cabaret performance by some of the school's most talented current students on February 29th at the JW Marriott Essex House (160 Central Park South, New York City).

Arlene Shuler is president and CEO of New York City Center where she began her career as a dancer with the Joffrey Ballet. At City Center, she conceived the hugely successful Fall for Dance Festival that has made live dance performance accessible to new audiences with its single ticket price of just $15. In the 12 years since its founding, over 275,000 have attended performances by some 200 dance companies.

Robert Fairchild is currently starring on Broadway in the role he originated in Chris Wheeldon's AN AMERICAN IN PARIS and for which he received the Drama Desk Award and a Tony nomination. He recently announced he'll be returning to the New York City Ballet after a year on Broadway. Mr. Fairchild has been a principal dancer with the New York City Ballet Company since 2009. He is married to New York City Ballet principal dancer (and PCS alumna) Tiler Peck.

Professional Children's School was founded in 1914 to provide an academic education to young people working on Broadway, in vaudeville, or "on the road." Today, PCS continues to educate young people pursuing challenging goals that may sometimes require time away from the classroom. Current students include Broadway and off-Broadway actors, dancers, television and movie actors, models and musicians. PCS is an independent, not-for-profit, college preparatory day school enrolling 210 students in grades 6-12. PCS graduates attain the admission to the most competitive colleges and universities in the United States. Just a few of the school's celebrated alumni include Emanuel Ax, Milton Berle, Peter Boal, Suzanne Farrell, Savion Glover, Marvin Hamslich, Scarlett Johansson, Jane Krakowski, Lourdes Lopez, Yo-Yo Ma, Midori, Tiler Peck, Lesley Uggams, Christopher Walken, Wendy Whelan and Pinchas Zuckerman.

The Professional Children's School Legacy Award recognizes distinguished members of the School's alumni community who have displayed outstanding professional contributions in the performing and visual arts, competitive athletics, and other endeavors. Legacy Award recipients embody the mission of PCS and reflect the professional diversity of our student body.
