Nearly two years in the making, Arica Hilton has announced the completion of AMERICAN ICON, a monumental painting in homage to the United States of America.

Hilton said in a statement:

"With today's crazy world of politics, and so many questioning the greatness of this country, I thought the time was ripe to unveil my vision of what America means, not only to me, but to so many of you who have seen the rise of many of the iconic symbols that make this nation so important in not only the geopolitical world, but in culture and technology."

"'American Icon' examines the world's perception of America. It combines quintessential American imagery to create a depiction of this nation as seen through the eyes of the world. From the Founding Fathers to Facebook; Cowboys and the Wild West; Mickey Mouse to Marilyn Monroe, John Wayne, Frank Sinatra, Elvis; Babe Ruth to Hank Aaron & Muhammad Ali; the Wright Brothers to Pan Am; Google, Apple, Microsoft, Twitter; Fallingwater to the Skyscrapers; the First Women's Rights Movement to the First Man on the Moon....

"America is seen as the Golden Door of Opportunity. Throughout much of the nation's history, citizens of other countries have marveled at the prospect of American freedom and opportunity. 'American Icon' pays tribute to the people, innovations and imaginations that have shaped this nation's history."

The original painting is 6 x 12 feet, oil and mixed media collage on canvas in three panels. It is also available as limited edition multiple.
