Jaimie Mayer and Don't Eat the Pictures Productions proudly present an industry reading of the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) hit The Boy in the Bathroom, September 17 at 3:00 & 7:00 PM. Featuring book & lyrics by Michael Lluberes with music and additional lyrics by Joe Maloney, this presentation will be directed by show creator, Michael Lluberes and will play at Stage Five at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street b/w 8th & 9th Avenues).

David lives in his bathroom. He never comes out. His mother feeds him thin, flat food she can slide under the door. He has everything he needs. David has obsessive-compulsive disorder and he's not going anywhere, until he meets Julie and discovers that there might be something, or someone, on the other side of the door that will make it worth opening.

The Boy in the Bathroom features a stellar cast including Michael Arden (B'way: Big River, The Times They Are A-Changing; Off-B'way: Bare: A Pop Opera) as David, and welcomes back the esteemed Mary Stout (Nat'l Tour: Fiddler on the Roof w/Chaim Topol; B'way: Jane Eyre, Beauty and the Beast), who created the role of Pam, as well as Ana Noguiera, who created the role of Julie, and.

During its 2007 NYMF premiere, The Boy in the Bathroom earned four NYMF Excellent Awards: The Microsoft/HealthVault Most Promising New Musical Award, Excellence in Book Writing, Excellence in Design and Excellence in Performance. Since its successful debut at NYMF, The Boy in the Bathroom has gone to receive the 2008 Anna Sosenko Trust Award, was selected for the 2008 ASCAP/Disney Musical Theatre Workshop with Stephen Schwartz and was a 2009 Richard Rodgers Award Finalist.

Michael Lluberes has written and directed numerous New York and regional productions including The Boy in the Bathroom (2007 New York Musical Theatre Festival, NYMF awards: The Microsoft/HealthVault Most Promising New Musical Award, Best Book, Honorable Mention: Best Direction, Anna Sosenko Trust Award, Richard Rodgers Award Finalist, ASCAP/Disney Musical Theatre Workshop with Stephen Schwartz), The Geranium on the Windowsill Just Died (Urban Stages), 1,000 Cats (UCB, HBO). Michael has also acted in a variety of production productions including Dirty Dancing (Nat'l Tour). Off-B'way: Pudd'nhead Wilson, American Dreams, As You Like It, The Taming of the Shrew. Regional: The Old Globe, The Acting Company, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, The Maltz Jupiter Theatre, Capital Repertory Theatre, Casa Mañana theatre, Pioneer Theatre Company, among others. Michael has appeared on "Chappelle's Show" and graduated from North Carolina School of the Arts.

Joe Maloney is a recent graduate of the Ohio State University Department of Theatre. His composing and writing credits include the musicals Hint (New York Fringe Festival) Truth be Told and Ready or Not.

Jaimie Mayer runs Don't Eat The Pictures Productions, a theatre and film producing company. Theatre producing credits include the Broadway production of [title of show], Blue Before Morning (DR2/TerraNova Collective), BabyLove (45Bleecker/Hourglass Group), Spite (Cherry Lane/Strings Attached Theater), The Scariest (45Bleecker/The Exchange), The Boy in The Bathroom (45th Street Theater/NYMF), Love Kills (45th Street Theater/NYMF), Diversey Harbor (The Kraine/Frigid Festival), New Voices Playwrights Showcase (DR2), Broadway Idol (New World Stages/NYMF), It's a Hit! (Village Theatre/fringeNYC). She is the Lead Producer on the feature film Armless, and a producer on the feature Redhook. Jaimie is currently the Managing Director of terraNOVA Collective, a theatre in residence at the DR2. She has served as an Associate Producer at both The New York Musical Theater Festival and Women's Expressive Theater, as well as the Artistic Associate at The Women's Project. Jaimie holds an MFA in Theatre Management and Producing from Columbia University's School of The Arts, a BA in Theatre from Connecticut College and certificates from The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, Atlantic Theater School, and Trinity/LaMaMa.
