Several of Broadway's rising stars will come together on Monday, April 30th at 8pm for "We Tell The Story: The Songs of Ahrens and Flaherty", a one night only benefit concert for the Make-A-Wish Foundation - which gives hope, strength and joy to New York City children with life-threatening medical conditions. The evening will take place at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street in the West Village, north side of Christopher Street, between Hudson and Bleecker Streets).
All of the proceeds raised at this benefit concert will go directly to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty are the Tony Award winning team behind such musicals as Once On This Island, Ragtime, Seussical and the animated feature Anastasia, for which they received an Academy Award nomination. "The benefit concert will include many of their most popular songs, as well as new gems from upcoming projects. Together with Friends In Theater Company and Striking Viking Story Pirates, under the Direction of Phil Accorso, 'We Tell The Story: The Songs of Ahrens and Flaherty,' is sure to be one amazing night of theatre," state press materials.
This month, Ahrens and Flaherty's newest musicals - The Glorious Ones - will premiere at the Pittsburgh Public Theatre. Based on the novel by Francine Prose, the musical follows a number of commedia dell'arte players in Renaissance Italy.
Ticket prices are from $35 up to $100 and are available by calling 212.279.4200 or on the web at www.ticketcentral.com. Visit www.wish.org for more on the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
