Applegate, Vereen, Mazzie, Sills Featured on This Week's Bway's Best 77

Sirius Satellite Radio has lined up nonstop Broadway programming for the week of September 19th on its Broadway's Best 77 station, which is "coast-to-coast and commerical-free."

On Wednesday, September 21st, Tony Award-nominated Sweet Charity star Christina Applegate will sit down for a chat on Jason Drew: Lost on Broadway at 1 PM ET; the interview will be rebroadcast on Sunday, September 25th at 12:01 AM. On Friday, September 23rd at 4 PM, Ben Vereen (Pippin, Wicked) will talk about the concert for the victims of Hurricane Katrina with Jason Drew. That interview will be re-broadcast on Saturday, September 24th at 8 PM and Sunday, September 25th at 10 PM. That same Friday, Seth Rudetsky will interview Marin Mazzie (Ragtime, Kiss Me, Kate) and Douglas Sills (The Scarlet Pimpernel, Little Shop of Horrors) on the Studio A Cabaret at 9 PM and midnight ET (rebroadcast: Sunday, September 25th at 10 PM). The two will give listeners a sneak preview of their upcoming apperances in the Actors' Fund benefit concert of On the Twentieth Century.

On weekdays, "Broadway's Best On-Air Hosts" broadcast "the greatest showtunes and film soundtracks from yesterday and today." From 7 AM to 1 PM, Christine Pedi ("The Woman of a Thousand Voices" best known from Forbidden Broadway) is featured before Jason Drew, the Broadway Baby, from 1 PM to 5 PM. Theatre historian and journalist Bourne has air time from 5 PM to 7 PM, and Seth Rudetsky, "the Ahmaazing One" is the host with the most from 7 PM to 1 AM.

On Saturdays from 10 AM to 4 PM, Dueling Divas Pedi and Rudetsky "team up for six hours of Broadway chatter, unvarnished opinion, celebrity guests and your phone calls (1-877-33-SIRIUS)". Saturday Sondheim is held on Saturdays from 4 PM to 8 PM ET, and is "a master class in the work of Broadways greatest living composer; Stephen Sondheim, and postgraduate study of the best of Broadway hosted by Doctor Michael Bourne." Bourne also hosts Rodgers Rules: The Music of Richard Rodgers on Sundays from 10 AM to 4 PM.  "Class is in session as he takes you on a six-hour crash course on the music, life and times of Richard Rodgers. He knows everything, and now, so can you!"

Sirius Satellite Radio is "also giving away a weekend in New York and a night out on Broadway with your favorite musical stars!" One lucky winner will receive: Roundtrip coach airfare for two to New York City, two nights hotel, Pre-show dinner, two tickets to a Broadway show and $500 spending cash. The contest is open through 12:00 noon Eastern Time on October 28th.
