A RENT star rocks HEDWIG!
Iconic RENT original cast member and recent IF/THEN featured player Anthony Rapp paid tribute to another legendary rock musical with a performance of "The Origin Of Love" from HEDWIG & THE ANGRY INCH live at Joe's Pub as part of the tribute concert PAYING THE RENT! earlier this week and a video of the moving number is now available to view.
The official description of PAYING THE RENT! was as follows: "Join Anthony Rapp (RENT, If/Then), Daniel Quadrino (Newsies, Peter Pan: Live!), Dee Roscioli (Wicked), Robin De Jesus (Wicked, In The Heights) and more for a one-night only rock concert benefiting Uncompromising Artistry Productions, a brand new theatre company based in NYC. Be a part of the only chance to see the cast of UAP's RENT stateside before they head to Scotland for a month long engagement as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this summer. Join us for a night of heart pounding rock songs and help us pay our RENT!"
More information on PAYING THE RENT! is available at the official site here.
Anthony Rapp has appeared on Broadway in RENT and IF/THEN in addition to starring in a noted regional production of HEDWIG & THE ANGRY INCH, plus numerous film, TV, concert and regional theatre appearances, as well.
