Another Shoppers Comes Forward Against Macy's

Nothing screams holiday spirit like another case of racial profiling against Macy's.

Halim Sharif, a club promoter in New York, has come forward saying that he was stopped by a loss-prevention employee in April after spending $2,400 on a Louis Vuitton bag in Macy's. He says he was stopped for no reason other than that he was black. Allegedy the employee asked to see Sharif's receipt, which he was able to provide, but remained suspicious enough to go through Sharif's purchase and make ocular confirmation of the Louis Vuitton bag.

Sharif's attorney, Kareem Vessup, says that a not-to-be-released cell phone video of the incident reveals a small crowd of white people leaving the store and setting off the alarm that the Macy's employees ignored.

Vessup also represents Kayla Phillips, who has accused Barney's of a similar incident earlier this year. Sharif is the fifth person to come forward, and the third against Macy's.
