Broadway Gives Back has announced that the Third Annual "Broadway Charity Songs" concert will be recorded by Broadway Records as part of their "Live from 54 Below" series. The concert will feature new songs written by Sting, Brian Yorkey, Andrew Lippa, Henry Krieger, Pasek & Paul, and others.
The annual concert pairs a group of award-winning songwriters with a group of outstanding charities and tasks each songwriter with composing an original song inspired by the mission of the charity. The result is an evening of songs gifted to the charities -- increasing awareness and funds for these outstanding organizations.
Other songwriters included are Jeff Blumenkrantz, Adam Gwon, David Friedman, Lewis Flinn, Andy Monroe, Timothy Huang, Nadav Wiesel, Andre Catrini, Nolan Livesay & Nathan Brisby, and Jonathan Breit.
The concert will honor the following charity organizations: Donors Choose, Bring Change 2 Mind, The Ronald McDonald House, The Tanenbaum Center for Interreligious Understanding, The Ryan Waldheger Research Memorial, Helping Hands Monkey Helpers, Duke Children's, Landfill Harmonic, GLAAD, Dogs on Deployment, Heartbeat, Springwire (An Initiative of Feeding America), Chia Lifeline, and Project Linus.
The concert will feature the talents of Sally Wilfert, Lauren Elder, Michael Esper, Saum Eskandani, Corey Mach, Todd Buonopane, Britney Coleman, Met Opera soprano Susanna Phillips, Seth Tucker, Alex Oyen, Dave Schoonover, Cooper Grodin, Shawna Hamic, Lisa Livesay, Luca Padovan, Sheri Sanders, David Gordon, and LaDonna Burns.
Doors will open at 5:15 with the concert beginning at 7:00. Tickets are available on the 54 Below website at http://54below.com/artist/the-3rd-annual-broadway-charity-songs-concert/.
