The new hour-long show, The Beatles Present "The Lord of the Rings: The Musical" will be performing from Thursday, October 6, 2016 to Saturday, October 10, 2016 at THE BRICK (579 Metropolitan Avenue) in Brooklyn for four shows only!
The Beatles Present "The Lord of the Rings: The Musical," stars Brian Muller (The Deuce, Madame Secretary, The Goodwife), Antonio Marziale (The Gay and Wonderous Life of Caleb Gallo, Project Mc2 , Ms. Guidance) Carl Lundstedt, and Jimmy Nicholas.
The Beatles Present "The Lord of the Rings: The Musical" is written directed by Sam French and Kyle Wilson, with music adapted by Eric Dietz.
In the late 1960s, the Beatles contacted legendary film director, Stanley Kubrick, asking him to direct them in a live-action musical adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. Stanley Kubrick declined. (That's all true, by the way).
That's pretty much where this epic dream died... Until now. The Beatles Present: The Lord of the Rings, The Musical rewrites history as the band decides to pursue the project anyway. Step One - act out the entire Lord of the Rings saga in their living room.
Over the course of an hour Paul, John, George, and Ringo use music inspired by their greatest hits to perform their own not-so-accurate adaptation of Frodo's adventure; complete with hobbits, wizards, Native Americans, fighting, singing and dancing-all against the plottings of the nefarious Yoko Ono, who wants nothing more than to break up the band and take her "precious" John Lennon for her own.
The Beatles Present: The Lord of the Rings, The Musical will feature scenic design by Lucy Pope, costume design by Jason Lewis, and lighting design by Jackson Gallagher.
Tickets for The Beatles Present: The Lord of the Rings, The Musical are currently on sale and are available by visiting https://web.ovationtix.com/trs/pr/963964. FOUR SHOWS ONLY! Seating is limited, and offered on a first come first serve basis. Order soon to ensure availability.
The Beatles Present: The Lord of the Rings, The Musical is produced by Josh Buckwald, Sam French, and Kyle Wilson, in association with THE BRICK. The Beatles Present: The Lord of the Rings, The Musical was developed during Carnegie Mellon School of Drama's Playground Festival of Independent Work and has since wowed audiences in a small town in Pennsylvania you've never heard of, as well as at a theater in Martha's Vineyard that kind of looked like that scary church in There Will Be Blood.
At Martha's Vineyard, an older Swedish man skipped a special showing of Jaws in order to see The Beatles Present..., proclaiming "You can see Jaws any night of your life, but you can only see this show now."
Other reviews were similarly glowing.
