The Anthropologists, in collaboration with Punto Space, is pleased to announce our first ever Lecture + Libations: Women's History Edition on Thursday, March 28, 2019, from 6:30-8:30PM. In honor of Women's History Month, we'll be celebrating the contributions of marginalized or hidden women+ with a curated evening of storytelling and connection.

Inspired by TED Talks and the visual presentation style known as PechaKucha, eight presenters have been chosen through an open submission process to give 3-minute talks on an under-recognized woman+. "We are creating space to resurrect a more comprehensive history, including female-identifying and non-binary people" shares Artistic Director Melissa Moschitto. "There are too many names and stories that have been excluded over time. Our work has long celebrated unheard voices and this is the perfect way to continue that work. We're thrilled to partner with Punto Space, a women and artist-of-color led venue, for this event."

Join us to celebrate the following trailblazers: Isabella Andreini, Sylvia Rivera, Dorothy Pitman Hughes, Beryl Markham, Luisa Capetillo, Isabel González, Tina Lorris and Elizabeth Cochran. Speakers include Latinx theatre maker Rudy Ramirez, professer and theatre artist Matthew Gregory, director/producer Alex Randrup, writer/director Victoria Medina, actors Marianne Hardart and Arisael Rivera, playwright Mark Loewenstern and political activist Liz Ritter.

Ticket prices range from $10-20 and include access to the event, plus wine, beer, beverages and light snacks. Any proceeds will go towards the development of No Pants In Tucson, a new play by The Anthropologists inspired by gender-oppressive laws. Punto Space is located at 325 W. 38th Street, Storefront #3, NY, NY 10018. Tickets and information are available at www.theanthropologists.org/events

The Anthropologists is dedicated to the collaborative creation of investigative theatre that inspires action. Celebrating our 10th year, our work has been described as "eerie and weird in the best way" (Culturebot) and "incisive, even necessary work for the present moment."(Culture Catch).

PUNTO Space is the brainchild of artists seeking to create a space that offers state-of-the-art amenities to support one-of-a-kind experiences. This three-story venue features four unique spaces that can be combined to support a wide range of events, in varying industries.
