Annie Golden & Jane Summerhays Set for MARRY HARRY at NYMF; Full Cast Announced!

MARRY HARRY is an official selection of the 2013 New York Musical Theatre and will be presented by the New York Musical Theatre Festival. MARRY HARRY has a book by Jennifer Robbins, music by Dan Martin, lyrics by Michael Biello, music direction by Christopher McGovern, choreography by Wendy Seyb, and is directed by Kent Nicholson. MARRY HARRY will play at The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center, beginning July 19 - July 28. Sparks fly when Harry, an aspiring chef trapped as cook at his dad's failing East Village restaurant, meets landlord Sherri, come to collect overdue rent after dumping her cheating fiancé. They fall madly in love, bonding over parental ties that choke and bind them, fast tracking to marriage - until everything implodes. With humor and heart, MARRY HARRY explores ideas about family loyalty, marriage, love and finding one's path in life.

ENNIFER ROBBINS (Book) has co-produced over twenty five shows on and Off-Broadway, some of them award winning musicals. She has written several screenplays and co-wrote and produced the feature film "Hudson River Blues". She is a member of the Broadway League and is on the Board of Directors of New York Stage & Film.

Michael Biello (Lyricist) and DAN MARTIN (Composer) are life-partners and longtime collaborators who have created a unique body of work in musical theatre. Their shows have enjoyed success in Chicago where Bailiwick's production of Breathe won the After Dark Award for Outstanding New Work and where they premiered their revue Qand their musical The Cousins Grimm. Breathe and Q have been produced in a variety of U.S. cities including Philadelphia, Richmond, Omaha, and Dallas. Developmental readings of The Cousins Grimm include the York Theatre, the New York Musical Theatre Festival (Anna Sosenko Trust Award), and the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center's Cabaret and Performance Conference in Waterford, CT. Biello and Martin's songs have been widely performed and have garnered honors and awards including: Table 3 - sung by Tony Award winner Karen Ziemba at Lincoln Center as part of the Bound for Broadway concert; You Do Not Know Me - nominated for a GLAMA Award for Best Theatre Song; What We Believe is Right - performed for an audience of 300,000 at the GLBT March On Washington; and The Dance - a film version of which has been screened on six continents and is in the Permanent Collection of New York's Museum of Modern Art. A new recording of Table 3 by Tony nominee Erin Dilly is featured as part of the BMI Workshop Podcast and is included in the 2009 BMI Workshop Songbook. Kent Nicholson (Director) recently directed How to Write a New Book for the Bible for Berkeley Repertory, Seattle Repertory, and South Coast Repertory Theaters. Other directing credits include the world premiere of Saint Ex (music by Jenny Giering, book and lyrics by Sean Barry) for the Weston Playhouse, 9 Circles by Bill Cain for Marin Theater Company, and Long Story Short at San Diego Repertory. New York Credits include Five Flights by Adam Bock at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater and Wet by Liz Duffy Adams on Theater Row. His work has been seen at Aurora Theater Company, Magic Theatre, San Jose Stage Company, and TheatreWorks where credits include All My Sons,Vincent in Brixton, Ambition Facing West, and Grey Gardens. From 2001-2008 Kent was Director of New Works at TheatreWorks where he created the New Works Initiative. While at TheatreWorks, he worked with over 75 artists on more than 50 projects establishing a nationally recognized festival for new plays and musicals and a writers retreat for the creation of new musicals. Pieces which developed under his leadership include: The 2010 Tony award winning Memphis by David Bryan and Joe DiPietro, Striking 12by Rachel Sheinkin and Groovelily, Vanities by Jack Heifner and David Kirshenbaum, Baby Taj by Tanya Shaffer, and Emma by Paul Gordon. Martin T. Lopez (Sets, Costumes, Props) is a NYC based scenic and costume designer. Recent work includes set and costume design for Baby Case at the New York Musical Theatre Festival 2012, which won six NYMF awards including honorable mention for excellence in production design and "Best of the Fest". Upcoming projects include set designs for Lucia di Lammermoor and H.M.S. Pinafore for Opera Saratoga's 2013 season. He was one of six designers chosen as a recipient in the 2004 NEA/TCG Career Development Program, and together with frequent collaborators, director Lawrence Edelson and lighting designer Joshua Epstein, Martin was one of the first winners of the Opera America Director/Designer Showcase, sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts. www.martintlopezdesign.com
