It's not every day that an audience member's opinion can affect future performances, but in Anna Wintour's case, it did.
Sources report that the Vogue editor enjoyed a night out at the Winter Garden Theatre to catch a performance of Andrew Lloyd Webber's School of Rock and spotted a familiar prop. In one scene, Luca Padovan's character holds up an apparently old issue of Vogue. Page Six writes that Wintour, "noticed that a prop issue of Vogue that's held up by Billy - the musical's young costume-designer character played by Luca Padovan - is woefully outdated."
Wintour immediately remedied the situation. Her office reportedly messengered February's issue of the magazine- featuring Ben Stiller in ZOOLANDER 2 on the cover- to the theatre. We assume the cast will begin using that issue in place of the old one.
Based on the smash hit 2003 film of the same title, School of Rock - The Musical features music from the movie, as well as an original score by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Glenn Slater, with a book by Julian Fellowes and direction by Laurence Connor.
School of Rock - The Musical is produced on Broadway by Andrew Lloyd Webber for The Really Useful Group, Warner Music Group & Access Industries, The Shubert Organization, and The Nederlander Organization. Nina Lannan and Madeleine Lloyd Webber serve as Executive Producers.
