Anna Netrebko adds another recording to her Deutsche Grammophon catalogue with the release of 'In the Still of Night', a live recital album made with acclaimed pianist Daniel Barenboim at the Salzburg Festival in August 2009.
The recording, which was released at the end of March in Europe, comes out on April 27 in the U.S. With this disc, her first piano-vocal recording, the Russian soprano focuses on two of her homeland's principal exponents of art song: Rimsky-Korsakov and Tchaikovsky. While many of the works featured on In the Still of Night are still relatively unknown in the western world, the recording is a natural follow-up to Netrebko's Grammy-nominated Russian Album (2007), which features highlights and rarities from the Russian operatic and orchestral song repertoire.

Netrebko recently reprised the Salzburg Festival recital program in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Berlin. The Berlin recital, which she performed with Barenboim on March 29, will be broadcast by the German-French cultural television network Arte on April 18 at 19:15 CET as part of its program series Maestro.
