According to USA Today, INTO THE WOODS and PITCH PERFECT star Anna Kendrick is writing a collection of autobiographical essays for Touchstone, set for release next fall.

The collection will expand "upon the witty and ironic dispatches for which she is known," according to a statement from the publisher, and will touch on "memorable moments throughout her life."

"I'm excited to publish my first book, and because I get uncomfortable when people have high expectations, I'd like to use this opportunity to showcase my ineptitude, pettiness, and the frequency with which I embarrass myself," Kendrick said in a statement. "And while many of my female inspirations who have become authors are incredibly well-educated and accomplished comedy writers, I'm very, very funny on Twitter, according to Buzzfeed and my mom, so I feel like this is a great idea. Quick question: are run-on sentences still frowned upon? Wait, is ending a sentence with a preposition still frowned upon? I mean, upon frowned? Dammit!"

Kendrick is known for her roles in the films PITCH PERFECT, THE COMPANY YOU KEEP, KEND OF WATCH, THE TWILIGHT SAGA, SCOTT PILGRIM SAVES THE WORLD, PARANORMAN and 50/50. In 2010, Kendrick starred opposite George Clooney and Jason Bateman in the film UP IN THE AIR, which earned her a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination.

The actress was recently seen as 'Cinderella' in the big-screen adaptation of Stephen Sondheim's INTO THE WOODS. An accomplished theatre vet, Kendrick made her Broadway debut in the 1997 production of HIGH SOCIETY, for which she received a Tony Award nomination. Kendrick's additional theater work includes A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, MY FAVORITE BROADWAY/THE LEADING LADIES: LIVE AT CARNEGIE HALL and Broadway workshops of JANE EYRE and THE LITTLE PRINCESS.
