Brooklyn based musicians, Bobby Blue the Balladeer and Anna J. Witiuk are joining forces this Saturday for a night of old country, folk hollers and Mexican romance at "the champagne of dive bars," Parkside Lounge.
The March 10th concert, hosted by magician Patrick Terry, promises a potent mix of Dirty Blues and Old West classics inspired by Roy Rogers, Antonio Aguilar and Patsy Cline.
With his 4 piece band, Bobby Blue's signature take on lonely cowboy love songs (in English and Spanish) pairs perfectly with Anna J. Witiuk's old-school cabaret influences. She and her band - The Somethin' Else - have established a loyal base of folk music devotees following recent appearances at Pianos, Sidewalk Cafe and Jalopy Tavern.
Tickets are only $5 at the door for this bluesy blend of music and magic presented at the Lower East Side's most beloved juke joint. For the uninitiated, Parkside Lounge (Established in 1956) offers live music 7 nights a week, plus cheap drinks and an environment described as "100% tourist free --well 94% but we get the cool ones."
Parkside Lounge is located at 317 East Houston Street and the show will begin at 8:30pm on Saturday March 10th. For more info, please visit parksidelounge.net
