"An excellent forum for a town hall loving, critical discourse-addicted...community. More please!" That's what Anna Rogovoy wrote in Dance Pulp after the first Risky Talking event in November, 2013. Then, urban developer Majora Carter and choreographer Bill T. Jones joined Flanders & Streb in a conversation that ranged from gentrification to sex to Broadway. The result was a rousing discussion with a standing-room-only crowd. (You can see for yourself, at GRITtv.org. )

On May 2nd, Flanders & Streb are convening Risky Talking #2: What Is A Risky Truth? Acclaimed novelist A.M. Homes and actress/dramatist Anna Deavere Smith will join action architect Elizabeth Streb and author/journalist Laura Flanders for more. Hear what they think, say what you think and watch out for the unique action moment created by the Streb team. The action and the conversation resume on Friday May 2nd from 7 to 9 pm. Admission is $10 or $20-you decide. There's even food!

The Risky Talking happens at SLAM (the Streb Lab for Action Mechanics, 51 North First St. in Williamsburg, Brooklyn). Our hosts are best-selling author and GRITtv host Flanders with her long-time partner MacArthur, "genius" award-winning Elizabeth Streb, whose big, risky masterpiece, Forces, is returning to SLAM on May 16th.

Why Risky Talking? Flanders says: "Elizabeth and I live in world where movement and movements intersect. We wanted to create a place where we could connect those dots, share the most interesting people we know and invite the public in to our "home"."

A.M. Homes' acclaimed novels include May We Be Forgiven, (winner 2013 Orange Prize), as well as The Mistresses' Daughter, among many others. Anna Deavere Smith has created an entirely new form of theater with her acclaimed masterpieces including Fires In The Mirror and most recently Let Me Down Easy, earning a MacArthur Fellowship, among many other honors along the way. In addition to her movie roles, she can be seen on HBO's A Young Arts Master Class and rocking it Sunday nights as Gloria Akalitis on Nurse Jackie.

RISKY TALKING: #2: What Is A Risky Truth? tonight, May 2nd 7 to 9 pm at SLAM. (51 North. 1st St Brooklyn, NY 11249). For more information, visit www.streb.org.
