Anna Deavere Smith, the award winning actress and playwright, will be giving a theatrical reading of Janet Langhart Cohen's critically acclaimed one act play, ANNE & EMMETT, an imaginary conversation between Anne Frank and Emmett Till.

Anna Deavere Smith's reading will take place by private invitation only on March 11 in New York City and will be in support of the Smithsonian National Museum of African-American History and Culture. The event will be hosted by Henry Kissinger and Vernon Jordan.

Langhart Cohen is the first author/playwright to creatively explore the similarities in the lives of Anne Frank and Emmett Till, two teenagers who lived in societies that couldn't protect them.
