Anita Baker Plays Radio City Music Hall Tonight, 5/6

Radio City Music Hall welcomes Anita Baker to the Great Stage tonight, May 6 at 8PM. Eight-time Grammy Award-winning and multi-platinum R&B/Soul artist, Anita Baker, has a new album, 21st Century Love, scheduled to drop later this year.
Best known for songs like “Sweet Love”, “Caught Up In The Rapture” and “I Apologize”, Baker was named one of VH1’s 100 Greatest Women in Rock ‘n Roll. Her career started when she was a teenager, singing in Detroit nightclubs in the mid-1970s. From there, Anita proved to be a leading performer in the field of sophisticated black adult pop in the late 1980s and early 1990s. She waged a successful battle to take control of her career and artistic vision. Her rich and distinctive alto voice is a comparison that ranges beyond the world of contemporary pop and jazz. Anita took an extended hiatus from music beginning in 1994 to focus on home and motherhood but returned in 2004, picking up right where she left off.
