Award-winning photographs of Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia created by noted architectural and fine art photographer Andrew Prokos are set to be exhibited at Banco do Brasil in New York.

Entitled "Brazil: Night & Day - Photographs by Andrew Prokos" the exhibition will include photographs from Prokos's award-winning series "Niemeyer's Brasilia", which captures the surreal modernist architecture of Oscar Niemeyer in the Brazilian capital. The exhibition will also include a selection of panoramic cityscapes of Rio de Janeiro at night, landscapes from Rio's famous botanical gardens, and Rio street scenes.

"I am truly honored to be exhibiting my work at Banco do Brasil New York, and doubly so because the space is normally reserved for Brazilian artists only" says photographer Andrew Prokos. "I want to show a side of Brazil that is not often seen outside of the country, and I am excited to be able to do that with the support of the Year of Brazil Program and Banco do Brasil."

"The Year of Brazil at Queens College is thrilled to be supporting this exhibition of Andrew Prokos's photographs" says Eva Fernandez, Assistant Vice Provost of Queens College, part of the City University of New York. "The photographs are not only stunning, but also offer a unique opportunity to meet the program's objective of fostering a dialogue between students and faculty from Brazil and the United States."

The exhibition is on display April 3-25, 2014 at Banco do Brasil, 11 W. 42nd St., New York, NY. The exhibition is sponsored by Banco do Brasil and the Year of Brazil at Queens College, CUNY.
