Gallery Henoch will represent paintings by Patricia Traub. For several decades, Patricia has concerned herself with the tenuous relationship between humans and animals.
Her paintings have been an expression of social issues - focusing on the human condition, conservation, evolution and extinction. Her aesthetics originate from pre-nineteen century sensibility - meaning, hand skills, traditional drawing methods, composition and indirect painting techniques.
For inspiration and knowledge she looked to the old masters such as, Titian, Artemisia, Rembrandt, Landseer, and Rosa Bonheur.
Traub has two paintings in the current Summer Show.
Gallery Henoch's Summer Group Show is designed around the idea of displaying seemingly disparate artworks as a cohesive show. Each painting has been individually curated into the exhibition for its strength of composition and quality of technique without any regard to how the total would hang together. The challenge of the final display is the un-sorting of the paintings and the placement of pieces that must visually balance one another. The end result will give the viewer an experience that may inform them on how to view and collect unlike works.
The artworks exhibited comprise a wide diversity of styles and subject matter that are practiced within the realist movement. These artists stand out for their imagination and distinctive personal approach. All reflect Gallery Henoch's commitment to an art based on individual, subjective style and sensibility.
The exhibition includes works by 21 painters: Olga Antonova,
John Evans, Gary Ruddell, Eric Zener, David Kassan, Patti Oleon, Greg Haynes, Steve Smulka,
Steve Mills, Kim Cogan, Simon Nicholas, Janet Rickus, Max Ferguson, Patricia Traub, Richard Combes, Susan Goldsmith, Alexandra Pacula, Sharon Sprung,
