Curator's Statement: "I've always been fascinated by the idea of reverse engineering and the associated fear that if a new-fangeld technology fell into the wrong hands, someone might deconstruct an object and spill its secrets. Mostly, reverse engineering is a consideration in military circles, or a tool of corporate espionage. What if you examined this principle in regards to contemporary art? All three artists presented in the exhibition mine a psychological terrain where we find ourselves asking why, when what we really might mean is how. It is that need for understanding which lays at the heart of reverse engineering."
