Summer is finally here and with that begins summer hours. Please note that from July 5th - August 12th, Andrea Meislin Gallery will be open Monday through Friday from 10 am to 5 pm. All of our artists are busy this summer, so we've compiled a list to help you keep track! Lili Almog
Lili Almog will be involved in a group exhibition titled A Stitch in Jewish Time on view at the Vered Art Gallery in East Hampton, NY from September 3 - October 3, 2011.
Ilit Azoulay
Congratulations to Ilit Azoulay for winning the 2011 Constantiner Photography Award! As the winner, she will have an exhibition at the Tel Aviv Museum in October - more details to come soon. Currently on view at the Gallery is Azoulay's first exhibition in the United States - The Keys. Her exhibition has already received attention from Time Out New York. Catch it before August 12th!
Azoulay is also participating in the exhibition Numerator and Denominator at the Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art in Israel, as well as Photographs from the Collection from August 1st - November 26th at The Israel Museum.
Micha Bar-Am
Micha Bar-Am's retrospective exhibition A Look Inside is on view at both the Open Museum of Photography at Tel Hai (Israel) and the Willy Brandt Haus in Berlin (Germany). An accompanying book has been published, with texts by several writers including Simon Schama and Thomas Friedman. This retrospective will be on view at both institutions through August 31, 2011. A selection of iconic works will travel to London, Paris and New York.
Alina & Jeff Bliumis
This fall, Alina & Jeff Blimis will be involved in a special project as part of the Fourth Moscow Biennial. The International Festival of Activist Art will run September 23 - October 30, 2011.
Michal Chelbin
In collaboration with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Michal Chelbin is currently working on a project entitled L.A. Women, a series of intimate portraits of women involved in the arts from Los Angeles. More details will be forthcoming.
Ofri Cnaani
The Sota Project has continued to travel to Tel Aviv where it is on view at the Rothschild 69 Gallery.
Barry Frydlender
Following his recent exhibition Travelogue in Pictures at the Gallery, Barry Frydlender's Shirat Hayam was on view at MOCA LA in the exhibition From the Recent Past: New Acquisitions.
Itamar Jobani
Itamar Jobani will be participating in the group show Making the Cut July 30 - October 30 at the Janco Dada Museum in Ein-Hod, Israel.
Vardi Kahana
Vardi Kahana is participating in the group show See Rock Music June 18 - July 23 at the Artist's House in Tel Aviv.
Leora Laor
On view at the Villa Empain in Brussels, Belgium is a group exhibition that discusses the roles and identities of women in society. Included in this exhibition, Of Women's Modesty and Anger, is gallery artist Leora Laor.
Yuval Yairi
Yuval is involved in two group shows at the Israel Museum - Life: A User's Manual and The Four Seasons - as well as Escape at the Zaritsky Artists House in Tel Aviv.
