BroadwayWorld.com has learned that Andrew Burns will star as Miss Adelaide in GUYS AND DOLLS at the John W. Engeman Theater at Northport in Northport, NY. The show will be directed by Peter Flynn, with choreography by Marcos Santana. Casting for the other leads is currently under way. The show will run from April 14th to June 19th, 2011.
Burns has appeared on Broadway as Belle in Disney's Beauty and the Beast, as Vicki Nichols in The Full Monty, and has sung concerts at Carnegie Hall, and other American concert halls, but theatre audiences know her best for her performance in the original company of Jason Robert Brown's critically acclaimed Songs for a New World.
Andréa portrayed Lucille Frank in the national tour of Parade, directed by Harold Prince, for which she received a Touring Broadway Awards nomination for Best Actress.She also created the role of Celeste in Stephen Sondheim 's Saturday Night at Second Stage Theatre. Most recently she appeared on Broadway in In the Heights.
Her debut solo album A Deeper Shade Of Red received positive reviews and she also made an appearance on the 2006 Billboard Hot Dance Club Play charts with "100 Stories"- a single she co-produced with her brother, Mike Burns.
