Andréa Burns will brings her new act to The Metropolitan Room, Manhattan's newest high-end cabaret and jazz nightclub, on Monday, August 14th at 10:00 pm.

"Long-recognized for a variety of performances –from the opera houses of Europe to Broadway - Andréa sings with a voice that critics say 'grabs an audience's heart and never lets go.' Burns has had the distinction of debuting songs for John Bucchino, and Stephen Sondheim, but most fans know Andréa for her performance in Jason Robert Brown's Songs for A New World. Audiences at the Metropolitan Room will recognize Andréa's 'creamy soprano' and be introduced to the more personal, humorous side of this Venezuelan Jewess from Miami Beach," state press notes.

Burns has appeared on Broadway as Belle in Disney's Beauty and the Beast as well as Vicki Nichols in The Full Monty. She originated the role of Celeste in Stephen Sondheim's Saturday Night and was nominated for a Joseph Jefferson Award for her portrayal of Dot in Sunday in the Park with George at the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre. Burns has shared the staged at Carnegie Hall with Elaine Stritch in the anniversary concert of Noel Coward's Sail Away and was directed by Harold Prince in the role of Lucille Frank for the national tour of Parade (for which she garnered a National Broadway Award Best Actress Nomination). Her recordings include the original casts of Saturday Night, John Bucchino's It's Only Life and Songs for A New World.

The musical director for the evening will be Steve Marzullo; it will beproduced by Jayson Raitt.

The cover is $25 plus a two-beverage minimum. Reservations can be made by calling (212) 206-0440. The Metropolitan Room is located at 34 West 22ndStreet between 5th & 6th Avenues.
