In "I Got Love" a new cabaret/musical revue style show at the Laurie Beechman Theatre, Broadway performer Anastacia McCleskey (Tarzan) sings her way through a variety of genres: Broadway, jazz, rhythm and blues and gospel. From Lena Horne's "Stormy Weather" to Jason Robert Brown's "I'm Not Afraid" to Marvin Gaye and India.Arie, "I Got Love" showcases the diverse musical styles of the 20th century.
Joining her onstage are dancers, John Carroll (Nat'l tours Chicago, Fosse, Movin' Out) and Daniel Hunalp. Produced by Shea Sullivan/ SAS Productions, Inc.
Anastacia McCleskey is a native of Nashville, Tennessee and a graduate of AMDA. She has been sharing her outstanding gifts and talents with audiences nationwide as a featured vocalist in productions such as Broadway's Tarzan and the Hairspray 1st National Tour. She has also worked with many artists such as U2, Julie Taymor, Phil Collins, Fred Hammond and Paul Bogaev. Anastacia was recently seen in this year's FIPAP production as Jewel in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and as a featured singer in the Miss Florida Pageant production, Dreamgirls.
The design team includes Shea Sullivan (director, choreographer), Joe Major (writer) Justin Hatchimonji (musical direction) and Stephen and Shawn Yearick (costume design).
Performances are October 22 at 7PM and October 23 at 8PM & 10:30 PM at the Laurie Beechman Theatre (Downstairs at the West Bank Cafe) located at 407 W 42nd St. btw 9th and 10th Ave. For reservations call 212- 695-6909. Cover is $20 plus $15 food/ drink minimum.
