Jambalaya Productions, Artistic Director Carolyn DeMerice and Tony Award-winning Broadway Producer, Lisa Vioni (Long Day's Journey Into Night, Sixteen Wounded, Little Women) will present an Equity showcase production of Oscar Wilde's classic An Ideal Husband. The show will open at the American Theatre of Actor's Sergeant Theatre (314 West 54th St. 4th Floor) on August 31st and will run through September 17th.

An Ideal Husband is a "sharply intelligent comedic farce that explores the potential downfall of Sir Robert Chiltern, a respected and seemingly irreproachable politician who is in danger of being exposed by the mischievous Mrs. Cheveley, after having discovered his scandalous past. Set in London in 1895, at the end of the Victorian era, the play is a biting social commentary on false morality, social hypocrisy and the corruption of greed with more than a few similarities to current events," according to production notes.

Robert Francis Perillo (Master teacher at The Stella Adler Conservatory of Acting and NYU) will direct An Ideal Husband. The cast includes: One Life to Live series regular Trevor St. John, JEFF Award-winner Christian Cohn*, Christina Apathy*, Kevin Cramer, Carolyn DeMerice*, Robert Haufrecht*, Lian-Marie Holmes*, Lynne McCollough* and HAl Smith-Reynolds*. The show's set design is by Mark Delancey, costumes are by Stephanie Voyer, and lighting design is by Charles Cameron. The show features dialect coaching by Robert Blumenfeld and music by Michelangelo Sosnowitz.

An Ideal Husband's Performances are Monday through Saturday at 8:00 PM (with no matinees and the theatre is dark on 9/5). Tickets are $15 and $10 for students, and can be reserved by calling 212.769.8465.
