'An Evening of Music and Comedy X' Set for 8/3 at Don't Tell Mama

Michael Martinez and Fred Coscia will present An Evening of Music and Comedy X at Don't Tell Mama on August 3, 2012. This showcase and variety show will feature singers Tara Bruno, Michelle Guadalupe, Leandra Ramm and Joanna Schubert. Producer Michael Martinez has previously presented showcases at Birdland, Don't Tell Mama and theaters in New York City. Michael has also promoted concerts and productions in venues across the country including B.B. Kings Blues Club, Carnegie Hall, Joe's Pub, La Mama Theatre, Le Poisson Rouge and The Paramount Theater in Asbury Park. Fred Coscia is an television host , producer and entertainment manager.

Tara Louise Bruno has delighted little girls on the National Tour of BARBIE under the Tony Award winning creative team including director Eric Schaeffer and choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler (Original Cast Recording). Some of her favorite regional credits include AMNERIS in AIDA, BIANCA in TAMING OF THE SHREW, Ulla in THE PRODUCERS, NORMA in VICTOR/VICTORIA, POLLY in CRAZY FOR YOU, HAIR, PAL JOEY (Barrymore Nomination) and the World Premiere of European Cabaret under the direction of Dennis Courtney. Here in NY, Tara has been seen in Broadway Bares (Jerry Mitchell, dir.) for BC/EFA, and has also produced and performed in LADIES ROCK!!! concerts at the Laurie Beechman Theatre. Michelle Guadalupe is an actor and singer. Born and raised in NYC, Michelle was trained at the Mannes College Prep. Division for Piano and Voice and earned her B.A. at Wellesley College. Off-Broadway: The New Hopeville Comics. Regional: Boleros for the Disenchanted (Barksdale Theater), The Comedy of Errors (Shakespeare & Company). Michelle currently studies dance at Broadway Dance Center and just finished an Improv Intensive at UCB. Recently, she jammed with Mimi Ferraro at Googie's Lounge.

Leandra Ramm is a versatile singer with an "extraordinary voice" (Anderson Cooper). Leandra has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, La MaMa, and 59E59 Theaters among other venues. In addition to being a lead vocalist on Celebrity Cruises, Leandra has performed with numerous theater and opera companies throughout the world. Her favorite roles performed include: The Full Monty (Estelle) at The Media Theatre, Iolanthe (Leila) at The Buxton Opera House (UK), Mario and The Magician (Silvestra) with Center for Contemporary Opera, Man of la Mancha (Antonia) with Diablo Theater Company and The Endless Road by Kurt Weill (soloist) with The American Symphony Orchestra. In addition to many previous television appearances, Leandra will star in a major television show airing later this summer. Joanna Schubert is a 23-year-old singer/songwriter/pianist from Teaneck, NJ. Joanna has been singing, acting, playing the piano, and writing music since elementary school. She attended LaGuardia High School (the "Fame" school) in NYC for Drama, Occidental College in LA for Theater (for one year), and, after taking a year off to pursue acting in NYC, Skidmore College for Music (classical piano, voice, composition, and orchestration). At Skidmore, Joanna received the opportunity to play in a classical piano master class with NPR's Christopher O'Riley. Joanna's studies culminated in one final senior recital, showcasing her classical piano performance and her orchestration and performance of six original songs. Over the years, Joanna has written over 50 songs, recorded an EP, and played shows in many venues, including, but not limited to, Caffe Lena (where Bob Dylan and Ani DiFranco got their starts), Waltz-Astoria, Classic Quiche Cafe, and Blast Gallery. Joanna is currently pursuing a career as a singer/songwriter and multi-genre composer/arranger, and hopes to relocate to NYC in the fall.
