in 2013. During her studies as an undergraduate, Chandry studied languages such as French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. This added to her discovery and love of Latin and World music helping ground her sound in the Brazilian jazz sub-genre, "Jazzinho." In 2007, Chandry was granted the opportunity to live in Paris, France during which she was astounded by the immense talent at The Paris Jazz Festival, as well as inspiring street musicians.

Reflecting on the experience, "Living and performing in Paris, witnessing the abundance of talent and observing a deep and profound respect to preserve and honor this art form was humbling - it was the experience I needed to realize that I wanted my life to be devoted as a vocal jazz performer." In New York City, Chandry is an active performer with her trio, "Chandry Abreu & Trio." They have performed at various local jazz venues such as: Zebulon's, The Shrine, Silvana's, The Lion, Creole, Village Underground, Zinc Bar, Minton's Playhouse, Maison Harlem & Nuyorican Poet's Cafe to name a few.

Chandry believes that her music is a story that every individual, child and adult can identify with. To Chandry, these are the sounds that bring people together. In addition to performing, teaching and training young musicians is a passion Chandry feels incredibly honored to fulfill. Chandry resides as a voice and piano faculty at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music.
