An Evening at the Carlyle Releases Cast Recording

Al Tapper's Off Broadway musical revue An Evening at the Carlyle has officially released a cast recording on Original Cast Records, which features music and lyrics by Tapper, and performances by the original Off-Broadway cast including Amanda Gabbard, Dennis Holland, Kelli Maguire, Michael F. McGuirk, Rachelle Rak, Jason Rowland, Maggie Graham and Jamison Stern.

Algonquin Theater Productions presented An Evening at the Carlyle, which transports audiences to the to the "mecca northeast of Tribeca," the Upper East Side's Bemelmans Bar in the Hotel Carlyle. The revolving door of patrons range from aspiring artists to down-and-out execs; from optimistic lovers to the torch-carrying lovelorn; from surprise celebrity guests to the inevitable celebrity wannabes; and from barflies toasting to their memories to those who drink to forget. For less than the cost of a round of cocktails, you join them all for an effervescent night out at one of Manhattan's most infamous watering holes.

Tom Herman directed the production which featured choreography by Rachelle Rak, musical direction and arrangements by David Wolfson, scenic design by John McDermott, costume design by Cathy Small, lighting design by Brant Thomas Murray and sound design by Josh Liebert. An Evening at the Carlyle opened at the Algonquin Theater on June 8, 2009 and closed on January 5, 2010. The Off-Broadway cast recording is available in CD and on most major internet music services, including i-tunes.
