On Friday, September 14, 2012, Broadway's celebrated revival of John Kander, Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse's Tony Award-winning musical CHICAGO will welcome back Amy Spanger in the starring role of merry murderess Roxie Hart.

Spanger, who first made her CHICAGO debut as Roxie Hart on Broadway in 2002, returns to the production this month after recently starring as Gwendolyn in David Hyde Pierce's production of The Importance of Being Earnest at the Williamstown Theater Festival.

On Broadway, her credits include roles the original casts of Elf; Rock of Ages; The Wedding Singer (Drama Desk nomination) and the revival of Kiss Me, Kate; plus the Tony Award winning productions of Urinetown and Sunset Boulevard.

Off-Broadway, she originated the role of Susan in Jonathan Larson's tick, tick... Boom! Her regional and national touring credits include Rent, Chicago A Chorus Line and the world premiere of Robin and the Seven Hoods, directed by Casey Nicolaw.

Spanger's television credits include "Bored To Death," "Royal Pains," "Law & Order: SVU," "Six Feet Under," "Michael and Michael Have Issues," "Ed," "Becker" and "Egg The Arts Show." Her films include Synecdoche, NY (Charlie Kaufman, dir.) and Reefer Madness The Musical.

CHICAGO currently stars Tracy Shayne as Roxie Hart (through Thursday, September 13), Terra C. MacLeod as Velma Kelly, Brent Barrett as Billy Flynn, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart and Carol Woods as Matron "Mama" Morton.

As previously announced, country music superstar Billy Ray Cyrus will make his Broadway debut in the role of Billy Flynn beginning Monday, November 5.
