The drama pilot is co-written by Lindelof and Tom Perrotta and is based on Perrotta's book of the same title, which follows a group of people left behind after the Rapture.
Theroux will play Kevin Garvey, a police chief and father of two, and Brenneman will play Laurie Garvey, who has left her husband and children to join a mysterious cult. Tyler is set to play Meg, a woman drawn to a cult while looking for an escape from her impending marriage. Coon will play Nora, a wife and mother who is suddenly neither.Boardwalk Empire's Emily Meade has also been cast as Amy, a high school student, and The Carrie Diaries' Jake Robinson will play a recurring role as a popular high schooler.
This will be Brenneman's first project since Private Practice's finale this winter. Her other small screen credits include Judging Amy, Frasier and NYPD Blue. Brenneman appeared off-Broadway last year in Rapture, Blister, Burn.
