Amor Artis Chorus and Orchestra, joined by organist James Kennerley, will perform masterworks from three centuries that reflect on the Requiem text, in ETERNAL LIGHT. Conducted by Artistic Director Ryan James Brandau, the program will feature Maurice Duruflé's Requiem and works by Duarte Lobo, Herbert Howells, and ?riks Ešenvalds.
"Our goal with this concert is to create an aesthetic space for deep reflection on the image of the perpetual light in Paradise," remarks Brandau. "The audience will be immersed in these composers' four beautiful sound-worlds, which are linked by the texts they set and their shared ancient musical inspiration."
ETERNAL LIGHT - Music from Requiems Across the Ages is set for Saint Ignatius of Antioch Episcopal Church, 552 West End Avenue (enter on W. 87th St.) on Saturday, April 16, 2016, 8 pm.
