American Bard Theater Company to Pay Tribute to Susan Glaspell with HOUR BY HOUR, 9/12

Notable theatrical artists will join American Bard Theater Company in presenting Hour by Hour : Susan Glaspell, a staged reading event that will span 10 plays in 12 hours, and celebrate the works of Susan Glaspell. Featured in Glaspell's Trifles & The People will be Lisa Barnes (LA Drama Critics Circle Winner), Hamilton Clancy (Orange Is The New Black, Artistic Director of Drilling Company). Glaspell's Pulitzer Prize Winning play Alison's House will feature Jan Leslie Harding (OBIE Winner), Shaleah Adkisson (Broadway: HAIR), Steven Hauck (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Broadway: Velocity of Autumn, Irena's Vow). Aimee Todoroff (Elephant Run District) will direct Close The Book & Woman's Honor, and Regina O'Malley (Broadway: Blood Brothers) will direct The Outside & Tickless Time. Guest speakers will include Linda Ben-Zvi (Professor & Author of Susan Glaspell: Her Life and Times, The Complete Plays of Susan Glaspell) and Martha Carpentier (President of International Susan Glaspell Society). The event takes place on Saturday, September 12th at The June Havoc Theater in New York City.

In its continued mission to explore works by highly regarded playwrights, American Bard Theater Company is presenting Hour by Hour : Susan Glaspell as a fundraising event that will also incorporate a silent auction which opens today. Auction items include Hamptons Bed & Breakfast Getaways, Helicopter Rides over Manhattan, Wine Class for 10 in Hell's Kitchen, A Celebrity Chef Dinner Package, Several Fine Art Pieces, and Champion Horseback Riding Lessons. Silent auction bidding is open now through September 12th and can be accessed by visiting www.americanbard.org.

This event is not only a preservation of text, but also of presentation. Artistic Director Michael Heitzler explains "As an Off-Off Broadway company, we can not expect to know where we're going, until we acknowledge where we've been. Before many others, Susan Glaspell's works and wisdom paved our way. We're thrilled to share that message with our audiences with the cooperation of our colleagues in the community."

Davis, Chloe Dirksen, Jon Froehlich, Byron Hagan, Chris Harcum, Helen Herbert, Jack Herholdt, Mel House, Hollye Hudson, Kristi Kelley, Josue Ledesma, Vivienne Leheny, Lauren Lubow, Amanda Mouzakes, Mickey Pantano, Jacob Pressley, Michael Propster, David Logan Rankin, Jeannine Reed, Andrew Rogala, Courtney Laine Self, Andreas Spiker, Susan Stout, Peter Studlo, Jacqueline Sydney, Rudi Utter, Cheri Wicks, Ashley Wilson, and Audrey Yeoman.

American Bard Theater Company staff includes : Michael Heitzler (Artistic Director), Cheri Wicks (Managing Director), Mickey Pantano (Development Director), Jack Herholdt (Dramaturg/Marketing Director), and Michele Butler (Volunteer Coordinator).

The June Havoc Theatre is located at 312 West 36th St. (btwn 8/9 AVEs) New York, NY 10018. Tickets are $25 for each performance block, $70 for day passes and $200 for VIP Packages.
