Amendolia Replaces Lane in Extended Dedication or The Stuff of Dreams, Sept. 6

Primary Stages has announced that beginning on Tuesday, September 6th, Don Amendolia will replace Nathan Lane in Terrence McNally's Dedication or The Stuff of Dreams, which opened at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street) on August 18th. In addition, the show will now extend past its original closing date of September 18th to play through Sunday afternoon, October 2nd.

Directed by Michael Morris (Slag Heap), the show's cast also features Michael Countryman (Night Must Fall), Alison Fraser (March of the Falsettos, The Secret Garden), Tony Award-winner Nathan Lane (The Lisbon Traviata, Love! Valour! Compassion!, The Producers), Darren Pettie (Unwrap Your Candy, Measure for Measure), R.E. Rodgers, Marian Seldes (The Play About the Baby, Three Tall Women) and Miriam Shor (Hedwig & the Angry Inch).

Amendolia has appeared on Broadway in Stepping Out and My One and Only, and off-Broadway in Cloud 9 and Until the Monkey Comes...On screen, he has been seen in Bounce, Boogie Nights, Ed Wood, Wayne's World and Without a Trace, and on TV on "Sunset Beach," "Law and Order," "Seinfeld" and "Frasier;" he was also Emory Battis on "Twin Peaks."

The newest play from the Tony Award-winning author of The Stendhal Syndrome (which received its world premiere at Primary Stages), Frankie and Johnny in the Claire de Lune, Master Class, Love! Valour! Compassion!, Lips Together, Teeth Apart and The Lisbon Traviata concerns a life-changing encounter between Lou and Jessie Nuncle (Lane and Fraser), the producers of a struggling children's theatre, and Annabelle Willard, the owner of an abandoned grand theatre the Nuncle's covet. Dedication or The Stuff of Dreams boasts scenic design by Narelle Sissons, costume design by Laura Crow, lighting design by Jeff Croiter and sound by Lindsay Jones.

Dedication or The Stuff of Dreams plays the following schedule through September 3: Tuesdays at 7PM, Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8PM, Wednesday and Saturday matinees at 2PM. Beginning September 6 the performance schedule will change to: Tuesdays at 7PM, Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8PM, Saturday matinees at 2PM and Sunday matinees at 3PM. There is a special added matinee performance Wednesday, September 14 at 2PM.
