Each year Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater generously dedicates one night of its New York City Center (131 West 55th Street) season (Dec 2 - Jan 3) to benefit Dancers Responding to AIDS. Join us Thursday, December 17, when a portion of all ticket sales benefit Dancers Responding to AIDS.

The spectacular new program features:

* The Ailey company premiere of Paul Taylor's Piazzolla Caldera - Astor Piazzolla's fiery tango music sets the stage for a series of sizzling encounters, some predatory, some playful

* Kyle Abraham's Untitled America: First Movement - Abraham, a MacArthur Foundation "genius grant" winner, explores the lasting impact of the prison system on individuals and their families in his first installment of a three-part suite

* The world premiere of Robert Battle's Awakening - Battle uses his taut, ritualistic style to powerful effect in Awakening, expertly balancing chaos and resolution, dissonance and harmony. This is his first new work since becoming artistic director of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in 2011

* Ronald K. Brown's Open Door. Renowned for his fusion of African and modern dance, Brown adds new flavor to his signature style in Open Door, set to recordings by Arturo O'Farrill & the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra

VIP Experience

Elevate your Ailey experience with exclusive VIP tickets and a pre-show reception at 6:00 pm in the mezzanine lobby with wine and hors d'oeuvres. Show at 7:30 pm. These exclusive tickets are only $150.00 ($75 tax deductible). They are available online or by calling 212.840.0770, ext. 229.
