Ken Davenport and Robyn Goodman, in association with Walt Grossman, Ruth Hendel, Sharon Karmazin, Matt Murphy and Mark Shacket, proudly announce that ALTAR BOYZ, the new acclaimed musical comedy at Dodger Stages, winner of the coveted Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Musical Off-Broadway, will have its 250th performance on Tuesday October 4th (8 PM)!

And, ALTAR BOYZ hits the road as well with productions scheduled in DETROIT (now playing at the City Theater), DES MOINES (opening in December at the Temple for the Performing Arts), and CHICAGO (January) to be followed by a National Tour kicking off in Summer, 2006.

Altar Boyz is the new musical comedy spoof of a fictional Christian pop group (with one nice Jewish boy), questioning their faith – in each other! When their soul-saving tour is interrupted by soul-wrenching secrets, hilarity ensues, as the Boyz learn where its fate holding them together, or just extra firm hair gel. With sweet harmonies, sinfully spectacular choreography, and an unnerving sense of fashion, the Altar Boyz are destined to delight the whole family. Featured in the cast are Scott Porter as Matthew; Daniel Torres as Juan; Dennis Moench as Abraham; James Royce Edwards takes on Luke, and Danny Calvert as Mark, the youngest of the ALTAR BOYZ; with Shadoe Stevens as the voice of G.O.D.

ALTAR BOYZ is directed by Stafford Arima and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli. ALTAR BOYZ has music and lyrics by Gary Adler and Michael Patrick Walker with book by Kevin Del Aguila, based on a concept by Marc Kessler and Ken Davenport. The creative team includes scene design by Anna Louizos, costume design by Gail Brassard, lighting design by Natasha Katz and sound design by Simon Matthews. Lynne Shankel serves as Music Director and Co-Orchestrator with Doug Katsaros.

Performances are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 8 pm, Saturday at 2 pm and 8 pm, and Sunday at 3pm and 7 pm, at Dodger Stages, Stage 4 (340 West 50th Street). Tickets will be $69.99 for all performances. ($1 Restoration charge included). Dodger Stages, Stage 4 is located at 340 West 50th Street, just west of Eighth Avenue. Tickets may be ordered online at www.telecharge.com or by phone at 212/239-6200. For more information, please visit www.altarboyz.com
