Film and stage actress Ally Sheedy will join singer/songwriter Martha Wash to help QSAC (Quality Services for the Autism Community) combat autism at the upcoming "Fitting Together" Gala happening on June 12, 2012.
Ally will attend the event and serve as its honorary host while Marsha has agreed to perform one of her hit songs. The event will also include entertainment by the Broadway Dolls and the up-and-coming young starlet Katie Shults. U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer are acting as honorary co-chairs for this year's gala which will honor Duncan Niederauer (the CEO of the New York Stock Exchange Euronext) and Alison Niederauer (a lawyer and member of the board of Autism Speaks) as well as Pfizer (the world's largest research-based pharmaceutical company).
Taking place at the beautiful, historically-landmarked Guastavino's (409 E 59th Street), the event will feature an auction, cocktails and dinner. All proceeds raised during this spectacular night will go towards supporting the important work of QSAC, an award winning non-profit organization and a recognized leader in the provision of services to persons with autism and their families. The gala will also celebrate Gary Maffei's twentieth anniversary as QSAC's executive director. "We are so grateful to Ally Sheedy, Martha Wash and all the other phenomenal people who are coming together to make sure this event is a huge success for QSAC and the wonderful people that we serve," said Mr. Maffei. Sponsorship opportunities and tickets are still available for the event.
