Glenn Seven Allen will star as ill-fated carnival barker Billy Bigelow in a Cap21 concert reading of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic Carousel tonight, November 20th at 7:30 PM.
Allen has appeared on Broadway in The Light in the Piazza, Off-Broadway in A Fine and Private Place, and most recently, as Clifford Bradshaw in Cabaret at Arena Stage.
No stranger to the concert scene, Allen performed last week in "Broadway High Note" at the Minetta Lane Theatre. He has also appeared in the Ars Nova Broadway Spotlight series with his concert "Too Legit!," as well as at Lincoln Center's American Songbook Series, Symphony Space, the American Historical Society, and Joe's Pub.
Carousel will be directed by Eliza Ventura, who also is Artistic Director of Cap21.
The musical will be presented as part of the Barbara Wolff Monday Night Reading Series.
