"Sing Along," the short film musical starring an all-Broadway cast began production yesterday, October 6th, for a six-day shoot. The film will be shot entirely in Midtown Manhattan except for its first two days, which will be filmed at a high school in Summit, New Jersey.

The short has garnered a cult following due to its all-star cast -- Tony winner Alice Ripley ("Next to Normal"), Myles Erlick ("Billy Elliot"), Heidi Blickenstaff ("[title of show]"), Uzo Aduba ("Godspell"), Remy Zaken ("Spring Awakening"), and "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" cast members Cassandra Taylor and Patrick Page. Sam Tsui, world-famous for his dynamic voice and popular YouTube videos, is also starring.

The film is a short film musical about a very introverted boy who imagines people breaking into musical numbers to assuage his fears of others. Original songs, composed by Ron Wasserman and Kathy Fisher, will be performed by Myles Erlick, Uzo Aduba, Sam Tsui, and Alice Ripley.

"Sing Along" was partially funded through a Kickstarter site where rewards varied from the film's soundtrack or a DVD screener to autographed memorabilia or a ticket to the premiere. Charles Salameno, who recently produced "Stick Fly" on Broadway, is executive producer.

The film was written by and will be directed by Mark Oxman. It is slated to premiere in spring 2013.
