The New York Theatre Collective presents Alfred Kinsey: A Love Story by Mike Folie, running Off-Broadway at the Michael Weller Theatre, 311 West 43rd Street (6th Floor).  Previews begin on Wednesday, September 5 and the Opening is Monday, September 10 at 8:00 pm.

The play is directed by Craig J. George (The Taming of the Shrew at the Duke on 42nd Street) with Scenic Design by Sarah Lambert; Costume Design by Jeriana Hochberg; Lighting Design by Richard Tatum and Projection Design by Shaun Fillion.

Alfred Kinsey: A Love Story "examines the unreliability of objective truth and provides a subjective and multi-faceted appraisal of one man's obsessive fascination with sex and sexual orientation. His voyeuristic search for the truth through his subjects' sex lives ultimately leads him full circle to shattering discoveries about himself.  It is a highly theatrical and fictionalized biography revealing the raw, hot emotions that often hide beneath the seemingly cold search for scientific knowledge.  With the wreckage of his memories and hallucinatory fragments, Kinsey's own erotic voyage is placed under examination; exposing how people can lie to themselves, even when they are on a quest for ultimate truth," state press materials.

Folie's plays have been produced Off-Broadway, regionally around the U.S. and internationally, winning several awards.  The Adjustment was produced Off-Broadway by Jewish Repertory and at several  regional theatres. The play also enjoyed a successful tour of England starring Stefanie Powers.  Other Folie plays that have been produced often include: Naked By The River and Panama.  He is a resident playwright at New Jersey Repertory Company.

The New York Theatre Collective is a company whose primary mission is to create, produce, and present artistic works rooted in the tradition of classical drama and literature.
