Alex Tobey to Present GOOD GIRL GONE BAD at HERE

Alex Tobey will present the world premiere of Good Girl Gone Bad, a bio-concert extravaganza starring Nicolette Stephanie Templier. Good Girl Gone Bad is the first in a planned series of bio-concerts, each exploring the intersection of private life and public persona as it relates to iconic pop stars.

The premiere of Good Girl Gone Bad will open on Wednesday, August 31 in HERE's Mainstage Theatre (145 Sixth Ave) and will run until Saturday, September 3. Tickets are on sale now at here.org or at 212-352-3101.

Good Girl Gone Bad is a bio-concert about everyone's favorite pop star from Barbados, featuring eleven years, eight albums, twenty costume changes, two restraining orders, good guys, bad guys, more guys, and the one woman behind it all. Starring Nicolette Stephanie Templier, Good Girl Gone Bad explores coming of age in the public eye, what it means to be a role model and powerful woman on one's own terms, and the stories and personal narratives that exist within one's ar2s2c work.

The production team includes Jamie Gross (Costume Designer), Keith A. Truax (Lighting Designer), Maggie Burke (Sound Designer), and Justice Longshore (Stage Manager). Charles Quittner serves as Executive Producer with Third Space Theatre as Associate Producers, and Madeline F. Bersin and Nick Tobey as Assistant Producers.

This production is a part of SubletSeries@HERE, HERE's curated rental program, which provides artists with subsidized space and equipment, as well as technical support.

Alex Tobey's past directing credits include Watch Me Burn (Fresh Fruit Fes2val), Breeders (Dixon Place), Expedition (Fourth Street Theatre), MilkMilkLemonade (Carnegie Mellon), CO-OPERA (Pittsburgh Opera), It's a Wonderful Life (Bricolage Production Company), and No Exit (bubble:PGH). He is also the assistant director of the immersive musical Houseworld (San Damiano Mission, Ars Nova ANT Fest, Elements Music Fes2val). Alex is the former founder and co-director of bubble:PGH, a traveling inflatable performance space, with Patrick Zakem. He holds a BFA in directing from Carnegie Mellon University. www.alextobey.com

Haitian-American actress/singer-songwriter/unikorn Nicolette Stephanie Templier hails from Brooklyn, NY. She studied theater performance at Marymount Manhattan College and worked as an in-house writer for indie label Titanium Music Group. She has performed in Bound For Broadway at the West End Lounge, worked with Erin Markey at Abrons Arts Center (A Ride on the Irish Cream) and with Harlem's Afrikan Women's Repertory Theatre (And Then There Were None, Womens Night Out). She has also performed her original music at Arlene's Grocery, The Studio at Webster Hall, Farafina Cafe (Harlem), and the Parkside Lounge (LES).
